Setting up Emergency Contacts on your iPhone is a smart move. It allows you to specify who you would like to be called if you are unable to speak for yourself. The process is simple and can be completed in a couple of minutes.
The Medical ID: The iPhone requires you create a medical ID. To do so, open the health app. If this is the first time you've opened this app, you'll need to establish your medical ID. You can be as detailed as you like about your health history. After you've done this, you'll be given the opportunity to define your emergency contacts. It's probably a good idea to have more than one listed.
Once your Medical ID is established, you may also want to set up an emergency SOS / Auto-call option. This feature automatically calls for emergency services when the sleep/wake button is clicked 5 times in a row. To turn this feature on. Open Settings. Scroll down the Emergency SOS tab. Here, you can verify your emergency contacts, and turn on the auto call option.
